HIP FLEXOR HAVOC:
Causes & Corrective Strategies!
Sunday October 19th, 9:00-10:30am (PT)
Are your hip flexors seeming to do everything? “Don’t use your hip flexors!” is a common cue in Pilates…but is that even possible or desirable? In this workshop, we’ll dive into the hip flexors' anatomy and function, understand why they seem to dominate movement and stabilization, and hope to restore muscular balance.
You’ll learn to identify signs of hip flexor imbalance in your practice or teaching, and discover practical strategies to develop balanced and useful connections.
Through mindful movement and functional strengthening, this workshop will help you:
· Understand the role of hip flexors and their common patterns of imbalance in Pilates
· Recognize compensations that limit core activation and proper hip function
· Explore techniques to restore healthy biomechanical tension
· Strengthen supporting muscles like the glutes, hamstrings, and deep abdominals
· Apply modifications and cueing to reduce strain and promote balanced movement
Perfect for instructors and students alike, this workshop is your guide to freeing the hips, deepening your core connection, and moving with greater ease and efficiency—both on and off the mat.
